The Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Seri Suria Power Brunei Sendirian Berhad marked the successful conclusion of the inaugural cohort of the Solar Internship Programme at the 30 Mega Watt Kampung Belimbing, Subok Solar Photo-voltaic Project. The Presentation of certificates of completion to four trainees was held on 9th June morning.

On hand to present the certificates to two students from Politeknik Brunei, PB and two from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE was Awang Abdul Salam bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Assistant Director of the Energy Transition Division, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office. Through the programme the trainees gained exposure to the solar project lifecycle, feasibility studies, construction, testing and commissioning, and safety practices. The programme forms part of the Skills and Capacity for Alternative Low Carbon Energy (S.C.A.L.E.) framework, led by the Department of Energy and supported by the Ministry of Education. The Solar Internship Programme cycle for the second cohort is scheduled to run from July to December 2026.
